Nathan Butler is native of Blanket, Texas a small town about 90 miles north-east of San Angelo. Nathan Butler moved to Tom Green County in 1998. Blanket, Texas is located in Brown County adjacent to Mills County. Brown county was originally part of Mills County. My great, great, Grandfather John Dan Chesser, and his family were one of the families to settle the area in the 1800's along with the Williams family. He served there as a Texas Ranger, Minister, farmer and rancher. His home was the gathering point for the families, prayer groups, dignitaries and professionals in the Mills county area. His home was also often used as a hotel for weary travelers passing through the area. A historical marker stands today where his home was located in Mullin, Texas marking Chesser Valley. I have continued his service to the people of Texas by serving formerly as an Assistant District Attorney in Tom Green County. Shortly after leaving the District Attorney's Office in 2003 I began my own law firm in San Angelo, Texas where I make my home. I have and intent to always serve the people San Angelo and surrounding counties as my Great Great Grandfather did in Mills and Brown Counties'. My Brothers chose to serve our country in the United State Air force. My Father Served in the Navy during Vietnam. My youngest Brother has served in Desert Storm, Desert Freedom and multiple other conflicts. My grandfather on the butler side of the family served in World war I. My uncles served in World War II, and Korea. My older brother served as a dentist in the Air Force. I have chosen to serve the people of the State of Texas and this country by defending the constitution and the laws of Texas and The United States by representing the people.

I have served as an Assistant District Attorney and Special Prosecutor here in Tom Green County, and a special prosecutor in Brown County, Texas before opening my own practice over 20 years ago here in San Angelo. My practice has always focused on criminal defense and family law. I attend legal continuing education updates and courses annually to keep up with the changing laws in Texas and the United States. I practiced for years just up the road in my hometown of Brownwood, Texas before and after moving to San Angelo and making it my home.
